From Humble Origins to Qualified Consulting
Jan-Hendrik Keet is the Director and Principal Consultant at EcoFloristix. He grew up on a farm in the heart of the Free State. From early on in life, he learned the importance of preserving our natural heritage, and how quickly disasters result from environmental mismanagement.
Jan-Hendrik is a registered Professional Natural Scientist (Pr.Sci.Nat) with the South African Council for Natural Scientific Professions (SACNASP). He holds a PhD in Botany from Stellenbosch University and has an extensive background in research and data analysis. He has published in, and reviewed for, numerous well-respected, high-impact international scientific journals (including prestigious journals such as Current Biology, Journal of Ecology, and New Phytologist). As such, he has a global Research Interest Score currently exceeding 330.
Apart from academic endeavors, he has consulted for various clients on a wide variety of environmentally related issues, such as Environmental Impact Assessments, Invasive Species Surveys, Environmental Damage Assessments, and more. He has also collaborated with other environmental specialists on various projects.
With his core competencies and skills in Botany and Ecology, Invasive Plant Species, Vegetation Surveys and Mapping, Geographic Information Systems (GISB1500S NQF level 5), Research and Data Management, Experimental Design and Analysis, and Statistical Computing Methods, Jan-Hendrik is well able to provide highly accurate reports and analyses for his clients.
In his spare time, Jan-Hendrik also provides expert editing and proofreading services for hobbyists, bloggers, business professionals, and university students and researchers. His projects usually comprise of scientific journal articles, theses/dissertations, blog articles, business plans, and more, and he has consulted for numerous international multi-million USD companies.
Jan-Hendrik passionately advocates for the sustainable use of natural resources, not only to benefit our current society, but also for many generations to come. He believes it's our responsibility as custodians of the planet to live sustainably with nature, instead of fighting against it.
